With the new flat tax rates of 10%, Macedonia has the most attractive package of taxes in Europe. The flat tax enables a simple tax system that stimulates the successful companies to improve even more their operations and profitability. With this attractive tax package additional funds are provided that the companies may use to improve their competitiveness.
Technological–Industrial Development Zones
The investors in TIDZ are entitled to 10–year profit tax exemption and to 50% reduction of the personal income tax for a period of 5 years, whereby the rate of the effective personal income tax will amount to 5% . The investors are exempt from payment of value added tax and customs duties for goods, raw materials, equipment and machines.
Fast Company Registration
Because “time is money”, the Government has introduced a one-stop-shop system that enables investors to register their businesses within 3 days. The registration is made by visiting one office, obtaining the information from one place and addressing one employee.
Access to Labor Force
An educated and qualified labor force is available to investors in Macedonia. The average gross monthly salary is 370 Euros, out of which 220 Euros are net salary, and the remaining 150 Euros are for payroll taxes.
Free Access to a 650 million Consumer Market & Macroeconomic Stability
These free trade agreements give Macedonia access to more than 650 million consumers. The economic performance of the Macedonian economy is expressed through stable GDP growth of around 4%, low inflation rate of 2-3% on average, fiscal discipline confirmed by the international financial institutions and a well-functioning coordination between fiscal and monetary policy.
Excellent Location and Infrastructure
The leadership position of Macedonia in (Wi-Fi) wireless Internet access is of a special significance. The development of the wireless Internet network contributed for the Republic of Macedonia to acquire the epithet of the wi-fi country with full coverage.
EU and NATO Candidate Country
On 17 December 2005, the European Council decided to grant the Republic of Macedonia candidate status for EU membership. The Republic of Macedonia is an aspiring partner country to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization.
